I was bitten by the bug many years ago, i dont know exactly how or why i love these cars so much, it may have been the 1st time i road in one, a "Baja" a rainy day in a muddy parking lot, mud flying high into the air, or if it was the time i got a short ride in a 1926 Bugati replica, built on what else bit a VW floor pan. My first car was a 72 VW Bug, i have since had close to 20 of them, i lost count, anyway the last one which i still have is a 1966 Bug, i wrecked it in a snow storm on a snowy day in Jan. of 95, and it has been sitting ever since, only way i planned on getting rid of it was to let it rust away to nothing Long story short, i have a few V8 motors laying around and i so want to drive my Bug again, so im building a Oldsmobile powered VW Bug, im gonna stuff 455 cid motor up under the front hood of it heres a few pictures of itm starting with the 1st, this was after i had cut off the wrecked front end way back in 95, more to follow as work continues
8/22/07 after a bit of cutting and welding i have the rockers back in, then back to the rear of the body where i'll cut all the rust out and add some tubing to strengthen it up
9/12/07 so now i positioned the motor where its gonna sit, have a bunch of work ahead of me now, still havent decided on what type of suspension to put under the front, thats still a ways off

Been a long time since i've updated any of my progress, and i have done a bit of work over the past 6 months I did buy some 2" by 4" by 1/8" wall tubing to build the frame rails for the rear What i did was use the front suspension from an S10 truck, the truck i got from my oldest son, he did drive it everyday until a wall jumped out in back of him and bent the rear half of the frame. That didnt matter for me cause i only needed the front suspension, and i plan on using the 4 cyl motor and transmission until i get the 455 rebuilt enough talk, here's a few pictures (im better with a camera that i am a writer
